Have you heard about Monet’s “Water Lilies”? Of course, you have. “Water Lilies” is the most famous creation of the French impressionist Claude Monet. And if you are travelling in Paris do not miss the chance to see the paintings of water lilies. Yes, that is right, “Water Lilies” by Monet are comprise 8 large murals located at the Musée de l’Orangerie in the Tuileries Gardens.

Musee de l’Orangerie is quite small (well, after the Louvre every museum is small) and the whole excursion there will take about an hour. However, Cody and I spent an hour just admiring the “Water Lilies”.

Along with Monet’s famous murals, the museum of of l’Orangerie hosts some other famous paintings by such artists as Paul Cezanne (we actually visited his studio in Aix-en-Provence), Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso (some of his early work), Pierre-Auguste Renoir and many others.

Monet’s “Water Lilies” are breath-taking and the museum made sure that you can be comfortable while soaking in all that beauty. There is a large sitting place in the middle of the room that gives you the ability to relax and enjoy the paintings.

I must say, that I absolutely loved this museum. Musée de l’Orangerie is a charming little museum with enormous beauty inside. The staff is very kind and there is a happy and relaxing vibe just floating around. On our next visit to Paris, Cody and I both want to spend some more time in this museum, next to the one of the best paintings (actually 8 paintings) I have ever seen.
