With Qatar airways free stopover program, we were able to stay in Doha for 38 hours. We were given the option to get a nice hotel with a huge discount. The hotel could be selected from the list provided by Qatar Airlines. Cody decided to book The Crowne Plaza Doha West Bay, which ended up costing us $27.50
We arrived at 6 am in Doha, tired and exhausted. Of course, we wanted to check in at the hotel as soon as possible, take a bath and get some sleep, but as usual check in was at 2 PM, which was 8 hours of waiting for us. The idea of sitting at the airport was not appealing, so we decided to go straight to the hotel with the hope that we could at least leave our bags and explore the city. Imagine how happy we were, when we arrived at 7 AM at the Crowne Plaza Doha and a smiling concierge at the reception said he could escort us straight into the room and we didn’t need to pay anything extra. Wow, right? It gave us a chance to rest and get ready to go out feeling clean and awake.
For the $27,5 we paid we got a huge room with a king bed. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the pillows were really soft (at least we thought so). The room had a great view of the city, the only one thing that bothered me was the dirty windows from the outside that kind of ruined the magic of the view. However this is understandable as there is a lot of construction in the area for new towers, so I don’t blame the hotel. In the middle of the room were two comfortable armchairs with a small coffee table that I rather liked a lot, it made the room more cozy. Two bottles of water, tea and coffee were complimentary, which were enough to keep us energetic.

The bathroom also turned out to be large with a separate shower cabin and bathtub (don’t you just hate when it is together?). The hotel, of course, provided all the necessary bath accessories: shower gel, shampoo, lotion, toothbrushes and more.
The big walk-in closet was especially nice (all girls want one). And although I know we stayed there just for one night, even so I loved it. The closet had very convenient shelves for suitcases and all the stuff you might need such as: an iron, ironing board, slippers and the bath robes (kind of heavy, but will do).
On the third floor of the Crowne Plaza Doha West Bay hotel there are a gym and a half-covered swimming pool. The weather was warm, so we decided to take advantage of it and go for a swim. There was no one besides us at the pool, which initially surprised me. Unfortunately, the water in the pool was cold and the sun beds were in the shade so we could not warm up laying under the sun and had to leave to take a warm shower.
The next day we checked out at noon and left our two suitcases and two backpacks at the reception until 6 PM, which wasn’t a problem for the staff.
In general, the hotel was very nice, the room is large, and the bed is comfortable. Many thanks to the staff! After such great service, I would definitely stay at The Crowne Plaza Doha West Bay on my next stopover in Qatar!
