When visiting most places most people want to find the best viewpoint. Whether to see the city, or to take awesome Instagram pictures. In this article I’m going to give you my favorite spots to get the best view in Granada, (Andalusia region).
Probably the most famous viewpoint in all of Granada, Mirador San Nicholas is an open square with an amazing view of The Alhambra. It’s located in the Sacromonte district and there is a bus stop just a block away that stops in Plaza Nueva for those that don’t want to walk up a hill. If you really want to enjoy the view, I suggest having an aperitif around sunset at one of the many bars that go down the hillside. You’ll be met with a panoramic view of the entire Alhambra as well as the Generalife and downtown Granada!
We went here at least 4 times during our stay because there is actually quite a bit to do around here including gypsy caves, Sacromonte Abbey, Casas del Chapiz, Casa Horno de Oro, Archaeological museum and others .

For an almost 360 degree view of all of Granada, you can go up the tallest tower in The Alhambra during your trip there. You’ll be able to see the river Darro as well as the main plazas and the beautiful Granada Cathedral. In my opinion, this is the best view in Granada that doesn’t actually have The Alhambra in it. That being said, if you turn around you can actually get a great view of the grounds of the palaces from up high.
Address: Calle Real de la Alhambra, s/n. 18009 Granada;

If you venture out to Sacromonte abbey there is a fantastic viewing platform from almost behind The Alhambra and Generalife. The view is through a valley and framed by the Sacromonte and Albaicin hills and is a great place to take a perfect Instagram picture or just take in the sunset.
Address: Camino del Sacromonte, s/n, 18010 Granada;
Hours: viewpoint open all day

This villa is located at the very base of the Sacromonte hills and is available to enter either for a fee, or as part of your Granada card ticket. While the building itself is under restoration there is a large and beautifully manicured garden behind the houses which make a pretty tranquil place to take in the view in Granada. You can read more about the Casas del Chapiz in my article ‘Things To Do In Granada’
Address: Cuesta del Chapiz 22, Granada 18009 (200 meters after the Paseo de los Tristes);
Hours: Monday to Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM hours.
Price: 2 euros
There is one place in this palace you absolutely have to go to, and that is the tower on the top floor. It’s only about 10 square meters, but there are beautifully framed windows all around which make for fantastic pictures. Yes, it’s probably another place to get your Instagram pictures done, but even so it is one of my favorite places to see Granada and I think you’ll like it as well. We were lucky the day we went had some cloud cover and that made for pretty dramatic pictures. Note: try to frame your pictures as symmetrically as possible to really go for that professional look.
Address: Callejón de las Monjas Albayzin, s/n, 18008 Granada;
