Seminyak is one of the most popular areas in Bali, especially with the young party crowd. It is right on the beach with plenty of beach clubs, rooftop bars, and of course restaurants. Here is an in no way comprehensive guide to where to eat in Seminyak during your next trip. We only stayed in Seminyak 4 days this most recent trip since our primary purpose was to stay in a decent hotel with a pool so we can relax before and after our trip to Ijen. But should I go back I’m sure this list will be updated!
If you read my article ‘Where To Eat In Ubud’ this first entry may be a familiar sight. In fact, there is another location in Canggu, yet I’ve never actually been into the restaurant. This is my go-to Grab place to order delivery from when I am lazy, and luckily Seminyak has one.
I’m a big fan of their Soft Shell Crab in a bao bun as well as their shrimp in the New England style roll. This is definitely a place you can order from if you just wanna spend the afternoon lounging around in your villa pool.
We first found Wacko Burger because it was just a short walk from our accommodation at the Sarinande Resort. In fact this was the first place we went to eat in Seminyak on our most recent trip. To me, this place is reminiscent of a classic burger café crossed with an LA style food truck. These burgers are absolutely massive and I find them a pretty great value for the money. It is of course more expensive than going to a warung and getting Indonesian food, but sometimes you just crave a burger.
Cody got a classic bacon cheeseburger while I decided to go all out and get something called the Mac’intosh burger. Basically a beef patty topped with a grilled Spanish chorizo and piled high with an overflowing amount of mac and cheese. And of course it wouldn’t be fully ostentatious without a deep fried mac and cheese croquette pinned on top!

This place is a bit touristy but it serves a delightful Balinese rijstaffel. This traditionally Dutch meal is translated as rice table and stems from colonial times. It is a feast of Indonesian food served in small portions, but don’t worry, you will be getting about a dozen different dishes. We were more than full after dinner here and felt the value was quite good.
I also recommend their shakes. We got a chocolate cinnamon banana one that was so tasty and refreshing. Perfect with our all fresco meal.

This place is actually right next to Warung Nia, and we almost missed it at first. In fact, it was completely packed when we first passed by, but we thought it was the inside seating for Warung Nia. In fact, Bernadette’s is its own restaurant and they are absolutely fantastic. They have a good mix of both Indonesian and Western dishes, and they are quite a lovely brunch spot. In fact, this was where I had my birthday brunch for 2019.
We decided to get one western dish and one Indonesian, so we ended up with a beef rendang plate, and chicken and waffle. I know, quite the unusual pairing. I had never had chicken and waffle before, but Cody likes it so it was a good time to try. To be honest I actually like the mix of salty and sweet the dish brings, and they gave a huge serving. The beef rendang was delicious as well. Apparently they cook it for over 12 hours!
